Mother Earth: Most Prosperous in The Entire Creation

In the commentary on Isha Upanishad (Īśāvāsyopaniśada) Guruji revealed that this upanishad is really about Mother Earth. Isha, according to Sanskrit dictionary, means ‘the most prosperous lady’, and literal translation of the first verse, ‘take everything from her, enjoy it, but remember – it belongs to her,‘ clearly indicates towards Earth. Guruji’s commentary will be published soon and hopefully clear all the confusion that ‘philosophers’ have created for thousands of years around this terse but profound text.

I recently found an interesting video [link] about the most valuable things on Earth. It turns out the most valuable thing is the Biosphere, the inhabitable environment and atmosphere on Earth, estimated to be worth more than 300 quadrillion US dollars! This cost was derived from a failed project known as “Biosphere 2” which aimed at creating an artificial inhabitable environment isolated from Earth. It took 2 million dollars in 1990 to create a sustainable environment just for 8 people, and even then the project failed at the end. Extrapolating that cost to what it would take to sustain life on the entire Earth today, it is mind boggling.

This study is fascinating because it answers why Mother Earth is the most prosperous lady in the Universe: Because She supports life! And such complex, diverse life! From a Wikipedia article on biodiversity [link]:

  • More than 99 percent of all species that ever lived on Earth are estimated to be extinct. In May 2016, scientists reported that 1 trillion species are estimated to be on Earth currently with only one-thousandth of one percent described.
  • The total amount of DNA base pairs on Earth, as a possible approximation of global biodiversity, is estimated at 5.0 x 1037.

She supports such complex life with so much biodiversity, that’s why Mother Earth is the most unique jewel in this entire creation!

No religion postulates a theory about the origin of Earth; the only reference (in Greek mythology) is that Earth came out of darkness. Guruji has said previously that Earth is beginningless and endless. According to Hindu scriptures, a day in the life of Brahma is 4.32 billion years. After our current Sun burns out, Earth will go in a hibernation period till she finds another Sun. This is the dark period, when life becomes inert – what is described in scriptures as Brahma’s night. Earth moves on after this dark period and form a union with another Sun which will create life again. Suns may come and go, Earth will go on forever! And each Sun results in a new species on Earth. Every species is a gift from a particular sun. It’s hard to imagine how many suns She has devoured!

Another hint: In Sanskrit, the original name of Mother Earth is Bhū-devI (भूदेवी). Bhū literally means Manifest, Eternal. Even the name indicates that Earth has always existed. Mother Earth, the Eternal Goddess!

Guruji says Earth is taking us somewhere, through countless Suns, to some unknown destination. She is the spaceship,  and we are the passengers on this incredible journey. And UFOs are the maintenance crew that appear from time to time.
